LIZA CANDARA
Liza’s Biography
Liza moved to Las Vegas in 2016 and continued working on many music styles, finding she could adapt readily to R&B and Country Bands and increase her experience in theatre.
She mainly worked as part of an acoustic duet performing in restaurants; however, her favorite engagement has been introducing the role of Madam London in the dinner show ‘Sweet Southern Burlesque,’ which first took to the stage in February 2020. Madam London was the lead – a Singer/ Actor/Narrator role, around which the show was built.
In 2021, she branched out into a style of music unparalleled in Las Vegas, working with two of the city’s most talented musicians to provide a sophisticated blend of acoustic and Bossa Nova. Her show in Vegas Valley Winery sold out in January 2022 and again in September 2022.
What Liza says she most enjoys about performing live is active engagement with the audience. She emphasizes choosing suitable material and is guided by what she finds inspiring, insightful, or uplifting. There is a joy in her performance that she has a passion for sharing. She believes in a holistic dialogue with those watching, offering her unique character and humor alongside her musical talents.
Her one regret is being unable to respond to a final audition opportunity for the sell-out London show Bombay Dreams, but she states philosophically, “Maybe it wasn’t my time!”
Liza was very excited to put on her feathers and perform with an innovative Jazz Band delivering a modern, soul-infused taste of the 1920s and 30s Jazz Age at the Mob Museum, Las Vegas.
Liza performed at the Woman Empowerments Events in February 2022 at UNLV. She is honored to be asked to perform in the future and quotes, “Ladies, you will never know your limits unless you push yourself to them.”
